Job Purpose

This position reports to the Transfer Program Manager in the Office of Undergraduate Admission and will be part of a team focused on recruitment, application review and enrollment of transfer students at Georgia Tech.

Specific expectations for this role include:

  • Build relationships with constituents working with prospective transfer students, as well as campus partners supporting transfer students

  • Coordinate transfer-focused outreach and actively participate within a wide range of communication strategies to educate and engage transfer students

  • Collaborate with partner institutions to enhance and support existing transfer recruitment efforts and pathway programs

Senior Admission Advisor Position Description

Note: These requirements, job functions and qualities apply to ALL positions outlined above.

ALL Senior Admission Advisor positions will be key members of our undergraduate recruitment team and will be expected to meet the background/skills, job functions and qualities as outlined below:

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and two to four years of experience

  2. Knowledge of and experience with computer systems and programs such as Technolutions Slate or similar

  3. Knowledge of and experience in the admissions field and interpreting policies and procedures to prospective students and the university community

  4. Understanding and practice of NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practices and applicable Federal policies such as FERPA, etc.

Essential Job Functions

Candidates for all Senior Admission Advisor positions should be comfortable with these duties and should be able to execute them on a regular basis.

  1. Understand territory management concept of recruitment and manage a specific geographic region and/or demographic group by utilizing data for decision making and recruitment

  2. Manage substantial file review volume

  3. Work with cross functional teams to initiate and facilitate collaboration

  4. Plan and implement special recruitment events, both on and off campus, including budgeting, volunteer management, campus partner participation, and event logistics

  5. Manage student group that works to recruit students from specific focus demographic

  6. Represent the university in a professional and positive manner at all recruitment and recruitment related functions

  7. Have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel (sometimes driving long distance requiring overnight stays); weekend and evening hours occasionally necessary

Job Purpose

The primary focus of this role will be to support students served by the Office of Scholar Programs, specifically by implementing programming, events, and mentoring of Tech Promise Scholars. This includes organizing logistics for onboarding, orientation, retreats, and other scholar activities. Event and program logistical support will account for roughly 50% of the position, while serving individual students through mentoring, directly and indirectly, will account for 25%. The estimated remaining 25% will include accounting, reporting, and modest recruiting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1
Plan, schedule and coordinate program events.

  • Organize logistics for onboarding, orientation, retreat and other scholar activities

  • Assist student ambassadors and student employees in organizing and executing events

  • Support Office of Scholar Programs and Enrollment Management recruitment efforts including review of scholar applications

Job Duty 2
Coordinate administrative activities associated with program operations such as procurement, records maintenance, compliance, event planning and meeting arrangements and minutes, and document preparation.

  • Support retention and progression programming

  • Coordinate annual report production for Tech Promise Scholars Program

Job Duty 3
Develop, analyze, reconcile and report financial data related to program operations.

  • Track expenditures for program and facilitate processing of purchase orders, invoices, and reimbursements through accounting colleagues

Job Duty 4
Design/develop promotional and marketing materials to include those developed for specific target audiences in support of program outreach efforts.

  • Update and publish program collateral for scholar community in consultation with supervisors and relevant colleagues, e.g., policies, procedures, manuals

  • Coordinate and monitor social media presence and program outreach

Job Duty 5
Develop and maintain performance assessment tools applied in program review to measure and report progress.

  • Assist supervisors in identifying budget needs and evaluating impact of program activities

Job Duty 6
Collaborate with internal and external entities to aid institutional or program support.

  • Support scholars directly on a caseload basis and indirectly through colleagues as an advisor and mentor on concerns that impact academic and professional performance

  • Assist with recruitment efforts as assigned

Job Duty 7
Perform other duties as assigned
